Mayan Life

Today i went to collect taxes from 12 different family's and oversee a group of people pay civil taxes through labor. All of this work is exhausting and makes me want to try and do something else although I know I cannot.I would have really loved to be a trader,they live the easy life,going around on adventures and seeing foreign sights.I always allow traders to not have to pay their taxes as long as they tell me a heck of a story.

Last week I had to lead a war between another empire and I had to take the priest mess about how I have to lead my own army into battle.The priest was saying that I had to rush the enemy instead of go around from the back,sneaking and flopping over the opposing army.He always acts like I don't know how to do my job and he almost always has something to say even when he agrees with me.Its not that big of a deal because I understand that he is the one that keeps us in touch with he gods.I just wish he did more of that and less of criticizing my stragities.

Aztec Sacrifice

The Aztecs practiced human sacrifice to please their god who makes the sun rise and fall.The Aztecs sacrificed 10,000 prisoners of war and slaves every year,in fact they sacrificed so many people that the temple stairs were stained with blood.to become a slave you had to not of paid your debts or went against the Aztecs in war.if you become a slave it isn't the end for you,you could always pay the debts back in order for you to not be a slave any more.

My opinion on the Aztecs human sacrificing is that it is uneccessary and does not need to be as done often.I feel this way because if you feel that human sacrifice is a terrible and gory thing to do even if it is for a god,you should not want it to have to happen as often,and would do it every 2 months or so. if the person is not willing to give up his life or has too much going on for him right now then dont kill him. if a person committs a crime or in every society theres some crazy suicidle just kill them.
